Sunday Intercessions ~ Fourth Sunday in the Easter Time

Today is Good Shepherd Sunday./ We pray for all who have shepherding roles,/ that we would guide and protect each other well./ We pray to the Lord.

In the Easter time/ we ask to change as the seasons change:/ the melting of what is frozen within us,/ the warming of what is cold within us/ the greening of what appears or feels to be dead within us./ We pray to the Lord.

We pray for those who are Mothers today,/ aware of mothers who live in terrible desperation:/ unable to protect,/ feed and nurture their children well./ For a secure world where families can grow./ We pray to the Lord.

Jesus says there must be one flock./ We pray for that unity which grows beyond denominational,/ cultural,/ and economic lines,/ asking that we would discover a new oneness in Christ./ We pray to the Lord.

We pray for the troubled continent of Africa which has become a land of crime and massacre./ The world asks how it can help/ and for the protection of the many young school girls recently kidnapped in Nigeria./ We pray to the Lord.

We continue a prayerful solidarity with the nations of the world./ For the people and lands of Equador,/ Egypt,/ El Salvador,/ Equatorial Guinea,/ Entrea,/Estonia and Ethiopia./ We pray to the Lord.

Finally we pray for those who have died,/ mindful of the many who have died in wars,/ terrorist attack,/ disaster,/ disease or drought./ We pray to the Lord.
